Přehřátí skluznice hrozí především při špatné manipulaci s voskovací žehličkou, nikoli při kartáčování. Ocelové rotační kartáče jsou určeny k mechanickému čištění, vykartáčování starého vosku a strukturování skluznice před voskováním nebo po jeho zažehlení. Voda by v tomto procesu neměla žádnou pozitivní funkci a spíše by práci komplikovala.
