ZLÍN – AVEX SKI, a ski specialist from Zlín, is a professional brand that is already known around the world. It does not just offer standard sales, rental or service of skis, but comprehensive services in the field of skiing. This includes not only the operation of apartments in ski resorts in Austria or the Beskydy Mountains, but also the production of our own special machines and other products intended for ski maintenance. And they are no newcomers in this area, for example, the unique ski grinder has more than thirty years of history behind it. "We are basically able to equip ski services, ski rental shops, ski clubs or schools that regularly organize skiing lessons and want to provide their own service for their pupils," explained Robert Šperka for AVEX SKI.
Josef Šperka is behind the development of the ski grinder, who holds dozens of patents for various shoemaking machines that are still in operation all over the world today. He had worked for Tomáš Baťa for years and was, in short, a master of design inventions. And since he was very closely connected with the world of skiing from a very early age, after the revolution, when he was already retired, he set about making a grinding machine for skis. As the operator of the ski center in Portáš, the invention made his work much easier.
"The biggest advantage of the machine my grandfather invented is its low weight, good consistency and easy handling. In addition, it can be plugged into a regular 220 V socket, which is not possible with other similar machines. All this makes this sander unique," noted Šperka. No wonder the grinder is in high demand. The machines are already in service not only throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but also in Spain, Belgium, France, Ukraine and Bulgaria.
However, the grinding machine that fills the gap in the market between manual, hand-held electric and giant automatic ski grinding machines is not the only one that AVEX SKI offers. "We are engaged in our own development of a number of products that make it easier for people to service skis, snowboards, alpine skis or cross-country skis. These are very practical gadgets," stated Šperka. The offer includes, for example, special service tables, a variety of vices and other tools that make manual sanding work easier. The assortment is also complemented by well-thought-out ski holders, which will solve the problem of storing skis for every winter sports lover. These are structures designed to be hung on the wall, which are available in various sizes and colors, so they have a very wide range of applications. Thanks to this, even an ordinary skier who has a smaller cellar or other similar room can treat himself to a practical ski workshop.
