The GEA LD model (or Maestrale in a skirt) is a proven model that impresses with its design, low weight and, most importantly, functionality. The 4.0 model has been modified for even greater comfort of use. The entire concept of the skeleton and the chimney ensures optimal rigidity and at the same time minimal weight, thanks to the new SPEED LOCK XT ski/walk mechanism, switching between walking/descent modes is much easier and more efficient. Another advantage is the ability to adjust the knee angle individually according to the skier's requirements. The chimney mobility is an excellent 60°, which allows you to extend your stride on flat areas and use the maximum glide and save energy. The skeleton, including the tongue, is made of Pebax® Rnew, which is made from a renewable natural material - castor oil. Pebax® Rnew does not lose its flexibility at low temperatures and still behaves the same, so the user does not lose precious energy when walking or descending. The Scarpa® / Vibram® sole made of TOP85 compound offers excellent durability and grip. It complies with DIN ISO 9523 and all TLT bindings on the market. The CROSS FIT PRO FLEX TOURING inner boot is thermoformable and has excellent insulating properties and dries quickly. Laces are included for better foot fixation. Three lightweight buckles 2x with micro adjustment and a plastic strap on the instep that keeps the foot in the correct position during ascent and descent.

• PEBAX® RNEW is an environmentally friendly, dynamic and durable material, ideal for use with minimal shell wall thickness and variable geometries. It provides high reliability for use in various conditions and terrain.
• SPEED LOCK XT- the mechanism for switching between ski/walk modes is easily unlocked and locked. The system is an improvement on Friction Free technology. There is no connecting “rod” between the lower part of the shell and the chimney, which allows for “friction-free” movement during walk mode.
• AXIAL ALPINE EVO – the ability to slightly tilt the tongue to the side allows the boots to be put on and taken off much better.
• WAVE CLOSURE SYSTEM – “Wave” is a new closure system made exclusively for SCARPA®. “Wave” provides the same strength as two classic buckles, significantly reducing the weight of the shell. A single buckle works in conjunction with a solid cable to ensure a uniform and secure tightening, resulting in an unrivaled fit and performance.
• HRS STRAP – a strap in the instep area terminated by a ratchet buckle enhances rigidity in the tongue while at the same time increasing performance when climbing thanks to good fixation of the foot in the heel.
• THOR RACK – the “ladder” of the calf buckle is designed to effectively “wrap” the calf area during walking and descent.
• POWER STRAP Finger – a new shape of Velcro strap terminated with a wide eye for easy manipulation and perfect tightening of the upper part of the chimney.

• ASYMMETRIC SPOILER XT – a removable spoiler that, thanks to its adjustable height, offers customizable support for the back of the chimney.
